Norwegian police are questioning the suspected gunman who shot and killed at least 85 people at a youth summer camp hours after he allegedly set off a bomb blast that killed seven people in the capital, Oslo. Police are also investigating the possibility there might have been a second gunman involved in the attack. Police say the primary suspect in the attack is Norwegian Anders Behring Breivik, 32. They say Breivik has posted extreme right-wing and anti-Muslim comments online. But at a news conference Saturday, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg said it is too soon to draw any conclusions about what motivated the attack. Compared to other countries I would not say that we have a big problem with right-wing extremists in Norway," Stoltenberg said. "But we have some groups - we have followed them before - and our police is aware that there are some right-wing extreme groups or at least has been some groups of that kind in Norway." Two separate violent attacks took place on Friday. In mid-afternoon at least one bomb exploded near the Prime Minister's offices in central Oslo. Within hours, at least one gunman opened fire at a youth camp on nearby Otoeya island. The celebration of Barack Obama's election to the US presidency has died down and now the president-elect and his team begin to face the many choices that confront them as they prepare to assume office in January. Political experts and foreign policy analysts say the new president will face some difficult challenges right from the start. One of the most obvious problems for President-elect Obama is that he will enter office facing problems left over by outgoing President George Bush. Those problems include a financial crisis, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the prospect of Iran developing a nuclear weapon and a number of other situations all of which demand immediate attention. Rice University Political Science professor Earl Black, co-author of the book Divided America, says new presidents have often had to deal with the problems left behind by their predecessor."He will face the situation, for example, that faced Ronald Reagan when he became the Republican president in January, 1981," said Earl Black. "He will have inherited all the problems associated with the previous administration." Black says another problem for President-elect Obama may be the high expectations he has raised among the people who supported him. Since a lot of Obama's message emphasized hope and change and, to a large degree he was somewhat general about those, he has attracted, obviously, millions of supporters not all of whom probably agree on what change they want and what hopes they are hoping to be satisfied," he said. Some of the biggest and most frightful challenges facing the new president will be in foreign affairs. Peter Zeihan, Vice President of Analysis for Stratfor, a Texas-based private intelligence and analysis company, says all presidents entering the White House find their options are limited. But, he says, President Obama will have some special problems to address. First, you have Iraq," he said. "He has promised his supporters that he will pull out as soon and as quickly as possible. However, unless he wants to turn around and re-deploy and go to war with Iran a year or two later, he has to be careful in how he does that. There needs to be some sort of agreement with Iran over the future of Iraq. Barring that, if you just have a naked pullout, there is really absolutely nothing that would stop the Iranians from taking over, whether directly or indirectly." Such a move by Iran, Zeihan says, would endanger the Persian Gulf oil supplies and force a US response. Zeihan says the situation in Afghanistan and the refuge Taliban fighters have in nearby Pakistan will also challenge President Obama. The way that Obama has outlined that he will make a difference in this conflict is by tapping Europeans and calling on NATO allies to do more," he said. "Well, as the Bush administration has discovered, much to its chagrin, the Europeans don't have the forces in the first place to deploy, second, are not willing, as a general rule, to deploy them in combat situations and third, because of the global finance crisis, most of them are pulling their forces home from Afghanistan." Zeihan says the new US president would risk provoking conflict with Pakistan if he sends US forces across the border from Afghanistan to pursue the Taliban and Al Qaeda. He says the third security problem the Obama administration will face internationally is the increasing boldness of Russia, which is aggressively countering US attempts to expand NATO in eastern Europe. Zeihan says these are just some of the challenges for the new president. These are just the three security challenges, all of which, honestly, are more than enough to keep any president busy independently," said Zeihan. "All three together-Whew! I do not envy Obama. I would not have envied McCain, either." Zeihan says US options will be limited in the years ahead because the country is over extended militarily and financially. 200811/55348Find out how the lady in your life will interpret your holiday gift idea Choosing the perfect present for your loved ones can be stressful especially for that special someone, what do women really think of the gifts they receive this time of the year, what's she really going to think what is going though her head, Join us today to talk about how does she interprets your gifts, is the editor in chief of Askmen.com James Bassil.James thanks so much for joining us, this is important information because I think all of us men have been in a situation when we give a gift, we got that strange look, like, maybe she doesn't like it。Strange look generally isn’t a good thing.Right, we know, it's very familiar with secretary we’ll delve into that in a moment of the first the website, because really this is one of those websites for a few men. If you do it too early it might create some speculation. What if it’s subtle jewel? But most importantly tailored for her, make sure send something keeping with her tastes, look at the other jewelries that she owns and her clothes, that really put that kind of summit to it.So if you’ve being going out for a couple of month, do not rush out to the jewelry store. You are gonna scare her off.All right, perfume, another logical gift.200812/60054Bush Pledges y to Confront Financial Crisis布什保与盟国合作对付金融危机 President George Bush says the ed States is working with other countries to restore strength and stability to international financial markets. He spoke after talks at the White House with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. The two met amid the first positive news in days from financial markets around the world. After a weekend meeting of key finance ministers in Washington, and a series of steps taken by governments on both sides of the Atlantic, the markets began to rebound following a series of heavy losses. From the White House, there appeared to be a small sigh of relief mixed with the realization that these gains are fragile and the markets remain volatile. President Bush sounded a bit hopeful. These are tough times for our economies," President Bush said. "Yet we can be confident that we can work our way through these challenges." The president said the Europeans have taken bold and specific action. He made clear there is no time to waste. People all over the world are understandably concerned about the global financial crisis and about how it will affect their families and their businesses," he said. He said the ed States and its allies are focusing on measures to help banks gain access to capital, to strengthen the financial system, and to make sure businesses and consumers have access to adequate credit. Earlier, at an arrival ceremony for Italy's prime minister, he stressed the need for coordination among nations in a sustained effort to get the markets back on sound footing. All of us will continue taking responsible, decisive action to restore credit and stability and return to vigorous growth," Mr. Bush said. Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said that the world has never seen a financial crisis like this one. But he too struck an optimistic note, saying he is 100 percent confident current economic obstacles can be overcome. During his visit to the White House, Mr. Berlusconi also said President Bush intends to meet sometime in the next few weeks with leaders of the Group of Eight - the organization of major industrialized nations. But White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said while the administration is open to such a meeting at some point in the future, no decision has been made and no date has been set. 200810/52782

The Satsop nuclear plant in western Washington State never generated a kilowatt of electricity. The cavernous and windowless nuclear reactor building has gone begging for commercial tenants for years. And it finally has one. Audio engineer Ron Sauro saw nothing but possibilities when he caught sight of the twin cooling towers looming over the forest near Elma, Washington. Sauro and his wife, Bonnie, run NWAA Labs, a small acoustic testing business. They were looking for a place with splendid isolation to open a state-of-the-art acoustic testing lab. When we normally build these kinds of laboratories, we usually build them underground or in the side of a mountain in order to be able to stabilize their environment," he says, adding that the Satsop nuclear project site is a much cheaper alternative. The reactor building was almost finished when construction stopped in the early 1980's. The utility consortium backing the project discovered it had overestimated future electricity demand. Also, public opinion turned against nuclear energy after a 1979 accident at the Three Mile Island power plant in Pennsylvania. 201101/123849

World Bank Raises Economic Forecast for China世界提高中国经济增长预测The World Bank says China's economy will grow faster than expected this year, but cautions it is too soon to say a sustained recovery is imminent. The World Bank raised its estimate of China's gross domestic product growth this year to 7.2 percent, up from the 6.5 percent projected in March. 7.2%。JumpstartIn its quarterly report released Thursday, the Washington-based lender credits China's 6 billion stimulus program with supporting growth by increasing investment in factories, real estate and public works. Jing Ulrich, the managing director and chairman of China equities for the investment bank JP Morgan in Hong Kong, says the stimulus program helped jumpstart the world's third-largest economy. Now, going forward, the most important thing to watch out for is whether the Chinese domestic consumption can hold up in the face of declining exports," she said. "We think domestic consumption is going to recover incrementally in the next few quarters, mainly because confidence is recovering very strongly in the Chinese economy."“现在,向前看,最需要密切关注的问题是,中国的内需是否能够顶住出口的下降。 Strong growthChina's economy grew 6.1 percent in the first quarter from the same time last year. That is the strongest rate of any major country, but below the government's target of 8 percent and far from 2007's explosive 13 percent. However, the World Bank cautions that more robust growth in China will have to wait until the global economy and demand for exports also rebound. It says China's trade and private investment will remain weak and consumption will slow. Ulrich says as the world economy recovers, China's exports also will recover. Clearly, that's the case. China is the second-largest exporter in the world and what happens in the regional economies, what's happening in the U.S. and Europe really matter a great deal to the Chinese economy," she added. "However, we also must keep in mind, the Chinese economy is fast. It's got 1.3 billion people. Domestic consumption and domestic fixed-asset investments are becoming much more important going forward."“很明显,中国是世界上第二大出口国。 The World Bank predicts China's growth in 2010 will rise to 7.7 percent. 06/75065
